Xiphiagrion cyanomelas is a very small species.
I seen this species only in one locality. Not often seen elsewhere perhaps easily overlook as other small damselflies of blue/black color.
Notice this male lost his last pair of legs. I found the male and femle drowning together in a drain. Something had happened to them such as a spider attach like the first pair I saw a few months ago.

The male Xiphiagrion cyanomelas can be distinguished by the presence of two short spots at the front of the synthorax viewed from above.
But female does not have these two spots and is exceptionally dark above the synthorax.
